WCL get into the festive spirit donning their best Christmas jumpers to smash a £1,000 target, raising over £2,750 for Save the Children’s charity.

On Friday 11th Dec 2020, team WCL got behind the Save the Children’s (www.savethechildren.org.uk) charity by taking part in their Christmas Jumper Day initiative. The team spent December busily raising funds from friends, colleagues, and businesses with the intent that every pound raised would be matched by WCL.

By pulling on their Christmassy knits and donating, WCL and their supporters were helping to transform the future for children. Every pound raised gave children in the UK and around the world the chance to grow up with improved health and happiness. Just £2 could pay for a bottle of hand sanitiser to help fight coronavirus in a Save the Children medical clinic, whilst £20 could pay for a back-to-school kit for a child in Indonesia.

With that in mind the team established a £1,000 fund target, seeking £2 minimum donations and a commitment to match, pound for pound, funds raised. Fair to say the WCL team were blown away by people’s commitment and generosity to this worthiest of causes. We were particularly pleased with industry colleagues Croftstone’s £200 donation (www.croftstone.uk).

WCL were delighted to have smashed their £1,000 fund target, managing to raise over £1,375 in donations which was then matched with a fantastic fund raise total of over £2,750. A great effort with massive thanks to all those who dug deep and helped out.
